Ten minutes before we got here, I had sat down on a wooden plank bench, only to have it collapse under me; apparently, it had rotted from the humidity, heat and mildew.So I asked how often they maintained the bridge, replaced frayed ropes and rotted wood slats underfoot. The guide said it was every three years, which was coming around again the next week.Very reassuring.
