On Perito Moreno
All the walking has liquefied some of the ice along the path we took. The glacier actually seals of an arm of Lago Argentino like a dam. As the water rises in the sealed-off part to 100 feet above the lake level, the pressure increases until it breaks through the ice barrier and rushes like an explosion into the main body of the lake. The event happens every one to ten years.
