We landed just south of the glacier face and disembarked our 20-person ferry onto a pier cut into the sedentary rock immediately adjoining the rising ice. This frozen river is part of the Southern Patagonia Ice Field in the Andes, which by itself contains a third of the world's fresh water. It's one of the most important tourist sites in Argentine Patagonia.
